wordpress doesnt send email with password to new registrations?

anyone know how to fix this problem without downloading a plugin?

1. This is most likely a problem with wordpress communicating with the email server on your hosting server. Contact you host and let them know that you need your server to be able to send automated emails generated by wordpress.
2. The setup of email in wordpress is virtually non-involved. I'm assuming that you've already entered your email address in the administration "Options / General " section? If so... i would contact your hosting company.
