Some problems with Wordpress Gallery 2?

I'm using the WPG2 plugin to embed Gallery 2 in Wordpress. I'm having 2 problems. First, when I view my Gallery pages in their stand-alone form, I have a comment field for every individual image, and for each gallery. But when I view them embedded in WPG2, there are no comment fields. How do I enable comment fields in WPG2? Second, I have it set up to display several random images in my sidebar. But when I click on those images, sometimes I get an error message, a 404 for the image. (It isn't doing it right now, so I can't show you, also I haven't gotten everything sorted out for public consumption yet) Any idea what could be causing this? Also, the sidebar disappears when I open the embedded gallery. Is there any way to keep it?
