Is there an easy way to do a custom wordpress theme?

I want to create a custom wordpress theme to integrate into my website. http://www.kevinmstich.com I know html and css, but I am not familiar with PHP. I have looked at a lot of tutorials and some of them seem either too much of a hassle or incomplete. Is there any easy way to do this?
