Is a WordPress blog better than a static website?

I'm about to put up a new site for a business. It will have a mix of articles, videos and audio files and will be updated frequently. I will also be selling products. Is a WordPress blog better than a static site for this? Please tell me the reasons for your answer. Thanks!

1. WordPress is free for non-commercial use. you will not be allowed to sell things. If you are not savvy enough to make website by yourself you can always go to blogger.com - it combines blog features very similar to wordpress but it allows you to commercialize your blog. Blogs are better that static website only in terms of being updated more frequently and being loved more by the search engines.
2. Man - use http://www.terapad.com - it uses all the latest web2.0 blogging technology but adds a web creation tool AS WELL! In other words you get the best of both worlds which is what I think you are looking for. Anyhow - its free to try so why not give it a go.
