Wordpress/comicpress question, how to manipulate templates? I just installed wordpress and comicpress templates onto my server. I like it a lot. I've gotten several pages made and I'm liking the interface a lot better than some other CMS I've tried so far. It was also the easiest to install. I've even embedded some html into some of the pages already. I see webcomics like PVP and etc are using wordpress but i don't understand how they are modifying their templates. Are there tutorials or anything that can help me figure out how to get started on this? I'm especially interested in learning a good workflow, I'm not sure if I'm being as efficient as I could be on this wordpress/comicpress stuff. background: I know HTML a lot. CSS and PHP I understand a lot but I have not much practice, but I know enough to understand how to write and learn very quickly other aspects of it.

How can i decorate an images popup title/alt attribute? Ive seen this on a wordpress template i cant find anymore but their was some javascript that allowed you to css an images alt/title attribute so when the little box pops up, its fits your theme. I'll do the other pages once I've finalised the layout on this. I'm also yet to do the IE6 cascade for the CSS, so it own't look right in IE6 yet. Having said that, I haven't checked it out on anything other firefox yet. It validates as xhtml 1.0 strict and css 2.1. I know the colours take getting used to. I normaly stick to my olive colour scheme as you will see in http://sw.vftw.com/ but in readability tests for about 1000 words, for most people that colour scheme comes close to standard black on white. So, I thought I'll try it out. I might try adjusting it a little and try it out on an uncalibrated sRGB screen. I never make fixed width pages unless I really have to. So this is staying in a fluid layout. It already has a minimum width, I should give it a maximum width though. The colour scheme does look quite vivid in some screens. Sometimes I need it to be quite wide, especially if I'm posting code excerpts.

How do i upload wordpress onto Startlogic hosting? Ok- i have been working on this all day and am going crazy. what is the cheapest and still functional way to make an online shopping mall with customized look? Wordpress Posting Issue? I have not touched my wordpress blog in 5 months. Now that I'm back trying to post in it, it doesn't work anymore. I can log into the blog, make a post, edit a post, appear to delete a post, BUT it doesn't show on the "Public" template side. It DOES however show on the standard Wordpress calendar/archive and history version, just not on my public published blog. I have not changed any coding or added any widgets. Could it be that my server changed authorizations for postings? Or Ports? Or? I definitely have clicked published, and did things regularly... my server is famous for blocking ports spammers use... had to change a file name to something different just to get the Camera Phone posting ability to work in the past... My wordpress comments are all the way at the bottom. Any idea what could be wrong? After editing my sidebar to my liking I clicked on my comments and I saw that there's a HUGE gap between the first comment, and the rest of them. Example: http://two-59.org/?p=69 I haven't touched my comments template, so that can't be it... Any idea what I did wrong?? I've already asked the people at the wordpress support forums and they were ZERO help. I also removed the <br clear="all" /> and all that did was mash my comments together....
I need help with my Blogger template.? I have a blog on Blogger and I have been looking to change the template. When I enter the html code in the template/edit hotmail section, it comes out screwy. There is just a bunch of text and the background, colors, and pictures don't show up. I don't know if I have Blogger Classic account or Blogger Beta account. I have tried looking at the "main page" template, but I can't figure out how to get the badge to show up in the sidebar if I put the code there. Any suggestions? Web design people, HELP! Should I attempt to design my own Web page?? I recently bought a domain name name and Web hosting through MidPhase, but I'm so confused I'm thinking about just scrapping it (I'm still in the 30-day money back guarantee time frame). I know basic HTML, but all the zillion folders on the control panel confuse me. And I tried to upload a WordPress template-- but that still hasn't panned out. I'm a college journalist, and I'm trying to get more tech savvy so I can someday get a job in print or multi-media journalism. Since I'm just getting my feet wet with this stuff, should I just opt for a domain name and host from something like uber.com? I know that means less street cred, but I'm a rookie and I think that would probably help me actually get something online instead of abandoning the project altogether. What I don't like though is that through Uber my domain name can't be FirstnameLastname.com What do you think? BTW, Uber.com is a Web design tool in which you don't have to play with your own codes. Is does the bulk of the work for you (that's my understanding of it). But their pages look nice!
